Executive Team

Alden E. Masonis, PhD

Dr. Masonis has a PhD in pharmacology with an emphasis in neuroscience. He has extensive experience in data analysis and is a self-proclaimed data junkie. Alden received his doctoral degree from a joint program in neuropharmacology between Rutgers University Graduate School and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. His thesis research established the first evidence for a direct interaction between androgenic and anabolic steroids and the gamma aminobutyric acid receptor system in rat brain, establishing a potential link between the direct effects of androgenic hormones and one of many neurotransmitter receptor systems in the central nervous system. He has done significant work in preclinical development, clinical trial design, biomarkers and pharmacogenomics. He has substantial experience in bridging the gap between clinical development and pharmaceutical marketing and works closely with the team to ensure that all programs achieve their intended goals.

Donna J. Schroeder, PharmD

Dr. Schroeder has a PharmD from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Her clinical emphasis is in oncology, but she has a vast array of experience in many therapeutic areas. After completing two years of residency at UCSF, Donna joined the faculty and ran the Drug Information Analysis Service and was a preceptor for both students and residents on the General Medicine service. During this time she wrote and edited scientific papers, a journal column, and handbooks for pharmacy and nursing practitioners.

Donna has experience in translating preclinical work into clinical commercialization with her expertise in trial design, biostatistical analysis, and outcomes research. She stays abreast of current clinical developments that may impact drug design and delivery. Two of her most recent passions are the use of biomarkers to identify proper targets in drug development and helping her clients evaluate biosimilar products in a branded marketplace. Donna also has experience working with major institutions as well as small biotech firms to achieve optimal success of getting the attention for grant proposals such as R01s (NIH) and Small Business Innovation Research grants. Her drive is to assist in producing a grant that convinces the reviewers it deserves to be funded. Donna works with the P4S team to ensure all team members learn from each other, share experiences, and collaborate so that the end goal of complete client satisfaction is achieved.

Evelyn D. Albu, PhD

P4S is lucky to have clinical research and medical education pioneer Evelyn Albu, PhD, serving as Senior Vice President. As one of the very first people to become involved with pharmaceutical clinical research over 30 years ago, Evelyn has helped to educate a wide variety of clinicians on a number of important advances, and continues to be an innovator in the field of clinical research and medical education. Early in her career, she created standards for the design and development of clinical trial protocols and case report forms. She has worked in clinical research from phase 2 through phase 4 studies and from design to implementation. She has developed recruitment tools for trials as well as data dissemination activities, conducted investigator meetings, and participated in all aspects of clinical research.

Evelyn brings to P4S her experience in medical writing, healthcare marketing, advertising, and medical education. She holds a PhD in microbiology from Georgetown University Medical School (with 2 years of medical school at Georgetown) and a BS in pre-med from Ohio University. Evelyn has extensive experience in a wide variety of therapeutic categories.

An undisputed expert and frequently invited lecturer and author in the field, Evelyn continues to keep up with—and help influence—the changes in regulations and guidelines that govern the field.
